Azhar has played a pivotal role in transforming the Finance function into a strategic business partner at both Group and Strategic Business Unit levels, with a strong emphasis on financial analysis and cost efficiency through close collaboration with operations.
He successfully restructured the Finance organisation into four core pillars namely Statutory/ERP, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury and Performance Management led by dedicated general managers to enhance synergy, efficiency and goal alignment across the Group.
He led the timely completion and Board approval of the Group’s Budget 2026 and five-year strategic plan, while also establishing a centralised treasury function to optimise fund management, reduce cost leakages and improve capital allocation.
Among his notable achievements, Azhar spearheaded the successful securing of a RM600 million loan from Bank of China for the Mambong Clinker Line 2 project at competitive interest rates. He has also strengthened investor relations and engagement with financial institutions and key stakeholders.

Under Ju Tang’s leadership in FY2025, the Cement SBU achieved significant strategic and operational milestones that strengthened its capacity, efficiency and market position.
He successfully led the commencement of construction for Clinker Line 2 at the Mambong integrated plant, marked by the groundbreaking ceremony on 18 December 2025. Upon completion, this major expansion is expected to more than double the SBU’s annual clinker production capacity from 900,000 metric tonnes to 1.9 million metric tonnes, significantly enhancing the Group’s production capabilities and supporting future growth.
He also spearheaded cost optimisation initiatives across the SBU’s operations, improving operational efficiency and reducing production costs. At the same time, he drove the expansion of the concrete business’ market share, strengthening the SBU’s competitive positioning within the market.

He also drove strong sales performance across key developments, achieving 81% take-up for Cahya Intan Phase 2 Residential Development in Kuching, while fully selling all units at the Samalaju Light Industrial development in Bintulu, reflecting strong market demand and effective project positioning.
In addition, he oversaw the successful execution of a long-term tenancy agreement for the Samalaju Hotel, strengthening the asset’s revenue stability and ensuring its long-term business sustainability.
