Solidarity with children with disabilities
8 April 2021 – Marginalised people such as the elderly, persons with disabilities, women, youth and children, and other minority groups typically experience the highest degree of socio-economic disadvantage. They are also the most vulnerable individuals during emergencies such as the one brought about by the pandemic. As CMS’ annual sale-of-work with PERKATA to show solidarity with the marginalised could not be carried out this year due to the pandemic, CMS donated RM5,000 to the Sarawak Association for the Welfare of Intellectually Disabled Children (PERKATA) for the upkeep of the school which caters to the education and training needs of children from the age of 4 to 17 with intellectual disabilities.
