Reaching out to families coping with the pandemic
6 August 2021 – To ease the pandemic-related struggles of villagers in the Akud and Sibanyis areas in Sarawak, SEDC Quarries worked closely with village heads and local councilor, Neuchlos Jub, to identify 13 villages in need of immediate food aid. RM20,000 worth of food baskets inclusive of crackers, instant noodles, cooking oil, eggs and other non-perishables were then handed over to the respective village heads to be distributed to 178 families in need, witnessed by YB Datuk Roland Sagah and councilors Chua Tok Siew and Neuchlos Jub. They thanked SEDC Quarries for the generous donation and hoped that the burden of the recipients consisting of farmers, singer mothers and daily paid workers could be lightened.
